A Paw-Tunate Meeting A Paw-Tunate Meeting: Chapter One
D’artagnan wagged his tail happily as he stared up at the pretty lady. She smelt nice, like cinnamon, though that was probably because she was carrying fresh treats home from the bakery. The pretty lady made a shooing motion with her hands as she tried to get rid of him. D’artagnan knew he should probably leave, the pretty lady was probably busy and had things to do. He was going to leave, he really was! It’s just… He was hungry, very hungry. The harsh Parisian streets weren’t kind to anyone be it a well-off Parisian Lady or a young pup, alone and struggling.
Barking and letting his continuously moving tail speak for him, D’artagnan made to give her a big joyful lick. His plan didn’t go as expected and in the next second his ears were subjected to the highest screeching sound imaginable. It confused him as he whimpered and tried desperately to block the sound from h
A Paw-Tunate Meeting: Chapter 2 Going Mutts!D'artagnan mustered his best glare and attempted to conquer the stairs. It was surprisingly easy to sneak out. Flowers and Boar were both dozing lightly, one spread out across the bed, the other napping peacefully in the chair. He didn't understand why they slept like that. They were litter mates weren't they? When he was still with his Father and siblings, on the farm in Gascony, he and his family had always cuddled together when they slept. Isn't it better that way?
Placing two paws on the step below him, he was filled with an easy confidence. I can do this. With a bit more energy than intended he set off down the stairs, he managed to stay upright for the first few, however, at about the fifth step he didn't get so lucky. His paws scrabbled to keep him put as he began to teeter towards the edge, nearly tumbling the entire way down.
With one leg firmly splinted and bandaged he didn't think he was going to be able to st
A Paw-Tunate Meeting: Chapter 3 This Bites!Looking across at the clearly displeased puppy in Porthos’ arms Aramis couldn’t help but allow a small grin to break out, even in such a dire situation. It had been Porthos’ idea to take Charles with them as they went to the inn where ‘Athos’ had reportedly killed a man in cold blood, they thought perhaps the puppy might be able to discover something that they wouldn’t normally see. Charles was after all able to track down Athos’ boots for a good chewing, no matter where the stoic swordsman hid them.
At first Aramis had been against the idea of bringing their companion along, especially since he was still injured but after watching the lively puppy happily remain safe and content in the arms of the biggest Inseparable for the majority of the journey (Not counting, those times Charles very vocally let them know he had to relieve himself) Aramis decided that maybe this idea wasn’t half bad and that they should bring the puppy with them more
A Paw-Tunate Meeting Chapter 4:Roger's Special!Roger was restless. Scratch that, Roger was anxious. There was something wrong, he could feel it. As a proud horse and honorary member of the Musketeers he knew better than to dismiss that instinct. It had saved his life and the life of his brethren on many occasions.
Coming to a halt, Roger could feel Leader's eyes on him. Leader had many names; Athos, Inseparable, Musketeer but to Roger he was known as Leader, just like Fidget had labelled Aramis as Master and Raul had dubbed Porthos as Boss. Leader did not question Roger's instincts instead instructing Master and Boss to be silent.
Roger's ears flicked forwards as he registered the sound of multiple boot heading his way. Leader held his reigns steady as they waited. Master was the first to make a move, musket firing with Fidget not even batting an eye, he was used to th

Reflecting
People might be asking "Darn why the heck are you introducing characters that won't appear sonner than several years into the future". Well, the answer's simple, my curiosity afflicted voice. Little Tornado will strike sooner than you might expect. Remember Edge of Sidewinder? I mean, who am I kidding, no you don't. That's the history of old - 2020. The faithful year everyone wish to forget, I bet. Well, it's been very productive year for me. Despite the twists I had to crawl through and loosing my entire team to... mental health issues (let's leave it at that), we still produced two big entries that year. The Guardian Syndrome burned, but that's okay. No one liked that story anyway. And given I started having certain aversion towards the context it's based upon... that whole AU is basically done and buried. Both Guardian Syndrome and Polygone Eclipse are cancelled, as if that wasn't obvious already. I won't be writing another Angels With Scaly Wings story. It's risky and painful. I've made a lot of enemies in that fandom and stuff would go down like with the bronies in 2016. I am rambling about darn nothing. Anyway, I am sticking to the plan. You guys have voted for Curse of Sidewinder and I want to introduce Seraphina with Tanis a wee bit sooner than Awakening concludes. I dunno if I'll even be here to finish it, as the matter of fact. Let's say I don't know how long I've got left. And that's why I am rushing this thing. The old fashioned speed run! I am already writing Little Tornado's first chapter. It's a little too soon to call it ready, but it's a start. I can't afford to wait. That is the message of today! Let's stick to it like a glue. Guys... Stay safe out there! I will finish this AU even if it's the last thing I do on this Earth! L
The clock is ticking
I was casually brainstorming ideas with Cinder tonight when the reality check hit me... I won't be able to finish this project in my lifetime. I am running out of time. There's so much to be told. Three big stories and who knows how many small ones afterwards. So many things I'd love to share about this world of mine... I've turned 26 this year. I am predicted to survive until 30 tops. 4 years from now... I've got a year to spare to wrap things up. Tale of Lara needs to be out and done until summer. Curse of Sidewinder will happen afterwards, along with Ahishiran Dawn, as these two provide context to the next story. Awakening will wrap the whole series up, as the ending loops the whole story back to the beginning. The terms like "Last" and RUBY and "Takeover" will start appearing from now on. I need to squeeze the Lost Luna novel in the schedule somewhat as well. And the AWSW story that got put on hiatus due to the fans being out for my blood... I don't have another 5 years or so in me to wait, like it was in the case of MLP, where the situation somehow calmed down. The two years of staying away will need to be enough...
The way forward Q1 2023
Gonna be brainstorming and polishing my notes for Chapter 6 of ToL during the downtime. All of that while working on the three drawings I've got due... No release date for either of those yet. I'll be trying out new styles of shading (well, the old styles and their various combinations) and line art crafting to see what works the best with my current HW. Chapter 6 has been in works mentally for a long time, if I am being honest. But still some key points remain unclear and need to be explored during the scene crafting for the first draft. I am talking about things like: Sarah's alignment and her willingness to cooperate with the good side. That's a subject that has given boundaries I can't deviate from too much but that doesn't mean I won't explore the topic. Aikiro's and Nataru's relationship; again that one has a solid form fleshed out in Edge of Sidewinder. Even though I had my doubts about writing that one before ToL, it now serves the role of the main deviation-proofing of the lore. Alsius' role in the story down the line. And last, the final resolution of the whole humanity versus thenerians conflict. It's been shown that ordinary humans don't have a problem with living alongside with thenerians. But HGov does, unfortunately. Something must be done about it. Lanika has a lot of work ahead of herself. Let's wish her good luck. She's gonna need it once Awakening drops and brings her own Lantharian blood alongside with it.
Production quality and rambling
I seriously don't understand my brain sometimes. The production quality goes up and down like a sinus function, and I hate it. Running late when it comes to a schedule, despite the fact I was working on the story 10 hours a day since Friday. I think the cause for that is I had to take a break to avoid burnout which I felt was very close to grabbing me. The delay won't be longer than a day or two. I generally work faster in the first half of the week, so I am assuming Wednesday is the deadliest of deadlines for this release. I need to work on my stamina, to be honest. 500 words / 60 minutes, that's nothing. Realistically, I need to able to produce double the amount of words in half the time, so I can get the ideas out in a timely manner and have some time to relax (I am talking about time management; my day job vs. my art career vs. my downtime when I do nothing vs. sleep) as well. When I am running late, I usually cut back on relaxation and sleeping, which works for a little bit but
