Tale of Lara Chapter 8 ACT 1
Sarah felt a familiar tingle inside of her spine. It was as if she was given a relaxing massage, right after climbing from a steaming hot spring. She was being thrown through yet another wormhole, a tear in the fabric of reality, another unstable gateway to who knows where. Quite far from the association that her confused brain produced... 'It's time to finish this, once and for all!' It was her voice, but it sounded distant, and it was accompanied by a ghostly reverb bouncing up and down along with the noise produced by the magical portal. 'March! For the Empire!' That was Lanika's voice, but not the gentle, yet firm tone the pale blue dragoness used every so often when she spoke to Sarah. This one was different. Familiar, yet unlike anything Lanika ever used. Sadistic and bloodthirsty craving for total domination and ending everything Ahishiran people represented. "Empress, Your Majesty." Sarah caught herself smiling with a cocky confidence. "Welcome to the world created in

"Wolfpack Actual to Wolfpack Zero-Two. Come in." It was going nowhere, and the Nakamura brothers were getting irritated out of their minds. The enthusiasm for the mission went away in a heartbeat, despite Akio's motivational speech. Virani was not ordering a move-out and doomed her team to become sitting ducks as she desperately broadcasted their location over the networked radio. "Wolfpack Actual to Wolfpack Zero-Two! Come on! Answer me! This isn't funny!" Kaito rolled his eyes. He was the least interested in waiting around and patiently tapping his foot against the crumbling concrete floor. Someone out there could easily pick up on the Virani's painful cries for attention and bomb the temporary shelter out. Kaito was not alone in feeling anxious, although his brother Akio didn't let his annoyance show so expressively. "Can you tell your girlfriend to get her shit together? I ain't playing cannon fodder game today," Kaito finally lost his cool after Virani pressed onto her

Tale of Lara Chapter 7 ACT 3
Lara followed the microdrone through the dark passage of a familiar traversal tunnel, practically walking in her own steps from earlier. She was taking in the scenery for the second time, while also wondering what she could have missed on her first dive into this tunnel. Ultimately, it turned out she missed quite a lot. The traversal tunnel was actually a junction of various half-buried paths going in all directions. The drone stopped at each crossing, scanned the narrow hole in the wall and continued further. Sapphire must have only left a vague description of the correct way because the pathfinding was taking a significant amount of time. Lara felt a growing hunger inside of her stomach, remembering she hadn't eaten anything in a good while. For how long was she underground, she wondered? It felt like ages since her unfortunate magical mishap and fire blinking into this derelict maglev tunnel. The drone stopped again, hovering mid-air, and scanning yet another crack in a

Tale of Lara Chapter 7 ACT 2
Sarah Fuga finally had the opportunity to catch a full breath of fresh air after travelling underground for what felt like several days at least. She remained at the front of the Peacekeeper platoon moving slowly through the infinite darkness of the Undercity. She was the scout of the group, moving faster on her own and watching for any incoming threats. Sarah popped out of the sewer pipe, lifting the lid with the tip of her tail to not endanger her more important limbs or her head of all things in case there was someone too trigger-happy on the surface. "Clear?" Alsius Stormbreaker was standing just beside the ladder his orange friend clung to. Sarah looked left and right, her green eyes focused and glistering with determination. Finally, her lips curled up in a cocky grin. "You'd like to know that, huh?" "Quit stallin', reptile!" Officer Bloodfang who also joined the collaborative effort of the group, had his own opinion on Sarah's behaviour. The general insult didn't land
